Off The RecordBack to the night

Your privacy.

Here’s how the website’s invite, VIP and Judgment Day features use your information.

Your night-out invite

Your invite is made on your device. Your name and choices are not submitted to OTR. When you choose to share, the image or message goes to the app and people you select. Shared links include your night-out choices, but do not include your name.

Your experience settings

The site remembers your motion, lighting and jump-scare choices in your browser. Clearing the site’s browser storage removes those preferences.

Judgment Day

Signing in uses Firebase Authentication. OTR stores your account identifier, email, available account name, allocated shot, issue time, redemption status and redemption time. A redemption also records the staff account that processed it. These records keep your prize available when you return, manage stock and prevent the same prize being redeemed twice.

Your saved claim card contains a private redemption QR. Keep it for showing staff. The separate public verdict card contains no redemption QR. Signing in does not subscribe you to marketing.

OTR VIP

Joining VIP uses the same Firebase Authentication account as Judgment Day. OTR stores your account identifier, email, whether your email is verified and, if you give it, your first name. Your first name appears on the screen you show at the bar. We use your account to let you use members’ offers. Viewing offers isn’t recorded against your account.

Your VIP pass

When you open your VIP pass, we store a random pass identifier linked to your account, its issue time and whether it is active. The pass shows your account name, or your email if you have not supplied a name. Authorised staff scan its QR to check your current membership and the benefits they are permitted to handle. Door staff can check admission and revoke entry privileges; bar staff can also view and apply eligible offers. When staff record an offer use or change entry privileges, we store the member and pass identifiers, the offer or decision, who handled it and when. Entry decisions also include the reason staff supplied. An admin can restore entry privileges or deactivate the whole pass.

If you choose to save a pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, the pass details are provided to that wallet service. The QR contains an opaque pass link, not your email. Keep your pass private. Saving a pass does not subscribe you to marketing.

Emails about VIP offers

Emails are optional. We only email you about new offers and OTR news if you tick “Email me new VIP offers”, and joining VIP never depends on it. When you choose, we record your email address, your choice, the exact wording you were shown, when you chose and where (signup or the VIP room). Our legal basis is your consent.

You can change your mind any time: untick the box in the VIP room, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Your email address is passed to the email service we use to send these messages, only if you’ve opted in and confirmed your email. We keep your consent record for as long as your account exists, so we can show when you agreed or withdrew.

Your birthday drink

Birthday signup opens our Send & Save form. Information you submit there is handled through that mailing-list service. We need your signup at least 7 days before your birthday; your free-drink email goes out 5 days before.
